First Meal Print E-mail

Been to the grocery store? If not, we strongly recommend that you stop reading, and start shopping.

We call the next meal the first meal because it, quite simply, represents your initiation into the world of the wide. So why the fancy name, why the pomp and circumstance? Well, this first meal should represent more than a feeding opportunity for you. It should represent the beginning of your new habits, the beginning of your new nutritional program, the beginning of a whole lot of hard work culminating in a whole lot of muscle mass.

Ever hear the old saying: Today is the first day of the rest of your life? Well, you can think of the first meal as the first meal of the rest of your diet. If you plan on really taking a serious run at this gettin' big thing, this is your first milestone in your quest for serious muscle. Think about it this way: Up until now, you haven't been doing what it takes to get bigger. So before this meal, you've been eating like pig. But after this meal, everything will have changed. After this meal, you'll be eating like the big boys. And here's how it's done.

The First Meal Ingredients

8 ounces (225 grams) extra lean ground beef
1 omega-3 egg
1 tablespoon pesto
Chopped onion and pepper
4 ounces (110 grams) spinach
4 ounces (110 grams) carrots
1 tablespoon walnuts
1 apple, chopped
1 tablespoon flax oil
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
I slice cheese

Preparing the Meat

1. Throw the beef, egg, pesto, and a small amount of chopped onion and pepper in a bowl.
2. With these ingredients, form 1 large burger patty (gettin' those hands dirty, of course).
3. If you have a grill (outdoor or indoor), you can slap it on the grill. If not, you can either place it in a pan (sprayed with the cooking spray you bought and sitting on medium heat), or place it in the oven at 400 degrees.

Preparing the Vegetables

1. While the burger is cooking, place the spinach, carrots, walnuts, and apple in a bowl.
2. Sprinkle the flax oil and apple cider vinegar on top.

Finishing the Meal

1. Once the burger is done cooking, add the cheese to the top.
2. Serve the burger, salad, and 500 milliliters of water.

So that's the first meal. Now that you've read about it, it's time to go cook it. Make sure you do that right away.
