Creative
Movement, Drama, and Storytelling for the Developing Child
back
to top
|
Early
childhood is a time for discovery and play. Young children explore
the world through their bodies. As children develop, they need
supportive environments that enhance their natural desire to
playmake, to dance, and to make up stories.
Through
whole body movement, narrated stories, chants & rhymes,
children can understand concepts in science, language arts,
social studies and math.
By
applying their imaginations, children develop self-expression,
confidence, concentration skills and learn a creative approach
to problem solving. Make-believe frees the spirit of each
child to connect with the world around them.
The
workshop will address the following topics:
*Creative
Movement
*Stories & Rhymes & Chants
*Dramatic Playmaking
*Fun Theater Games
*Storytelling Techniques
*Puppets & Props
*Rest-time activities/ transitional games
